Thanks, Day 28-29

Wednesday, January 29th, 2014

Yesterday, I was thankful for a good dinner and the means to make and enjoy a good dinner.

Today, I am extremely thankful for my wife. I’m thankful for her grace in putting up with my kids’ crap. I’m thankful for her live and affection. I’m thankful that she cares so much for our kids, even when they are rude, ungrateful, and naughty as hell. I am thankful that God put us in each other’s lives.

Thanks, Day 27

Today, I am thankful I have the means to be back in school in the first place.

Thanks, Day 26

Yesterday, I was very thankful to not be at work. I got to get some cleaning done, watch a couple of movies, set up a new computer for my grams-in-law (converting PC people to Mac users makes me giddy), got a little jumpstart on my weekly grad school assignment, and all while in the comfort of my own home. While I am en route to work today, I realize how thankful I am that I have a Monday to Friday steady gig that allows for family and homebody time!

Thanks, Days 24-25

Yesterday, I was thankful for friends old and new. Got to do lunch with an old college friend and met with some new friends at the local community center last night.

Today, I’m thankful for snuggle time in the big bed with my boys and a nice lazy day.

Thanks, Day 23

I forgot to click publish on this before I fell asleep on the couch last night:

Today, I’m thankful that I no longer have to park on the street, especially on snow days.

On Monday, I was very thankful for the spirit of Dr. King and, also, the day off of work in his honor.

On Tuesday, I was thankful for another day off, even though I had to take a personal day. I hate snow in a lot of ways, but I love having a day home with the family!

Today, I am thankful for my wood stove. It’s fun, warm, and captivating.

Thanks, Day 19

Today, I’m thankful for good brakes and a guardian angel… freaking deer!

Thanks, Day 18

Today, I’m thankful I got to join in the fun at the PRDR end of the year party/dance/whatever. I wasn’t planning on attending, but my dad encouraged me to go and he stayed home with my boys (who were already asleep when I headed out). It was a nice way to spend time with my favorite gals in the world, including my most favorite gal.

Today, I’m also thankful for having a great relationship with my Dad. We weren’t always close, but over the last decade of my life, our relationship has grown and I’m very thankful to have him in my life.

And, finally, today, I am thankful for help from family and friends in dealing with my sons when I want to throw them out of a window. Being able to walk away for a few minutes really, really, really helps.

Thanks, Day 17

Today, I’m thankful that even after an argument, I always know that my marriage is the glue that keeps my life stable. I love my wife and I know I’m loved.
